Volunteer Your Time

Source Force relies on the hard work of many volunteers to accomplish our mission of helping those in need. Our volunteer efforts are concentrated on our two main events.

Our monthly picnics are usually held on the third Saturday of each month (except March, when we make the Easter baskets). Volunteers are needed before the event to shop for supplies and help load and unload items. During the picnics, there are several areas where we need volunteers. Our Easter basket project requires an extraordinary amount of volunteer effort. The weeks leading up to the event are spent soliciting donations and acquiring the needed items for the baskets. As we make roughly 500 baskets, the day of the event requires a strong volunteer contingent. Many of our volunteers are local church or community groups. Other ways you can help

While the majority of our volunteer efforts are concentrated on these events, we do need help throughout the year for various other efforts:

Fundraising: Since Source Force receives no help from the government, we rely on monetary donations to keep things running. We need dedicated people to write grants, talk with potential donors, and maintain contact with current donors.

Collecting: We constantly need new or pass-as-new items for our Bingo prizes and Easter baskets. We need help looking out for and collecting potential in-kind donations. Many times, we find these gifts at yard sales, thrift stores, or through ads on local websites and in newspapers.

Clerical: We are always on the lookout for help with the behind-the-scenes work that needs to be done, including financial help or volunteer coordination.

There are many other ways that you can help Source Force in addition to these tasks. If you are a member of a community group, church, or other organization, you can help through a fundraising drive or collecting items from your members. If you would like more information about volunteering your time or organizing a drive through an outside group, please contact us.
